Field Manual · Season 0
Everything a hunter needs to know.
Hoodlox is a shared valley on Robinhood Chain. Every two hours a fresh set of crates is buried in the grass. Find one, dig it up, open the chest inside, and redeem what it paid to your wallet.
01
Overview
Everyone plays on one map: a forest valley ringed by mountains. You walk a hunter around it in third or first person, and you see every other hunter who is online.
- Find a crate sunk halfway into the grass. Faint golden motes drift up from it.
- Dig it. Nobody else can dig that crate while you do. Your tool decides how long it takes.
- Open the chest from your inventory. It pays ETH, $HUNT or a Robinhood stock token out of the epoch's pool.
- Redeem your balances. The vault sends them to your wallet on Robinhood Chain.
02
Getting started
1. Connect a wallet
Open /play and press Connect wallet. Any EVM wallet works: MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet. You sign a short message to prove you own the address. Signing is free and sends no transaction.
2. Pick a hunter and a name
Choose one of six hunters. They look different and play the same. Your name is 2 to 16 characters (letters, numbers, spaces, . ' -) and must be unique.
3. Enter the arena
The dashboard opens first. Press Enter arena to drop into the valley. Your session is remembered for 14 days on this browser.
Looking around as a guest
Guests can walk the valley and watch, but cannot dig, open chests, buy tools or redeem, and do not appear on the leaderboard. Connect a wallet any time to hunt.

Hunters walk on the meadow only. Mountains, cliffs and big rocks block the way.

Epochs & crates
Time is split into epochs of 2 hours, counted from the start of Season 0 (20 October 2026). At the start of every epoch:
- every crate left over from the previous epoch is cleared;
- 20 to 30 new crates are buried at random spots on the meadow, at least 25 m apart;
- a fresh reward pool backs that epoch's crates.
Rarities are split across an epoch's crates in proportion to the drop odds, so an epoch is never all commons. All buried crates look the same. You learn the rarity when the crate comes out of the ground.
| Rarity | Share of crates | Value weight | Worth about |
|---|
Value weight is how many commons one crate of that rarity is worth. "Worth about" uses this epoch's pool and the expected mix for its crate count.
05
Digging
- Walk within about 2.5 m of a crate. A Dig here button appears with your tool's time.
- Press E. The crate is now claimed by you. Other hunters see "your name is digging here" and cannot start on it.
- Stay put while the bar fills. Walking, pressing Esc or Cancel ends the dig and frees the crate.
- When the time is up the server checks it, hands you the chest, and the crate is gone for everyone.
Rules the server enforces
- You must be standing near the crate (within 15 m of it as last reported).
- A dig cannot finish before your tool's time has passed.
- A claim lasts your tool's time plus 30 seconds. If you vanish, the crate frees itself after that.
- Each crate can be dug once. A crate from an epoch that has ended cannot be dug.
06
Tools
Every hunter starts with a free shovel. Faster tools dig the same crates in less time, so you reach contested crates first. Tools are permanent and you can switch between the ones you own.
Prices are a share of the 1,000,000,000 $HUNT supply. When you buy, your wallet sends a normal $HUNT transfer to the vault. The server confirms it on-chain, then gives you the tool. One payment buys one tool.
07
Chests & rewards
Open chests from the inventory or the dashboard. The server then:
- takes the chest's dollar value, fixed when it was dug: its rarity's share of the epoch pool;
- picks the asset at random, weighted by how much of each is left in that epoch's pool;
- pays that value in the chosen asset into your balance.
Native ETH on Robinhood Chain.
The game token, valued at its market price.
Robinhood stock tokens: TSLA, NVDA, AAPL or SPY, fractional.
If an epoch's pool cannot cover a chest any more (prices moved a lot), that chest opens empty. Opening chests early in an epoch avoids that.
08
The reward pool
Each epoch has its own pool, funded from creator fees and tool sales and held in the vault. This epoch's pool:
| Asset | In the pool | Value | Left |
|---|
Prices for valuing the pool and rewards: ETH from CoinGecko; $HUNT and the stock tokens from their deepest Robinhood Chain pools on DexScreener. Both refresh every minute.
09
Redeeming
Rewards collect as balances in your account. Open the dashboard, go to Rewards, and press Redeem to wallet.
- The vault sends one transfer per asset to the wallet you signed in with. The vault pays the gas.
- Each redeem shows its status and a link to the transaction on the Blockscout explorer.
- If the network is slow, a redeem stays pending and is retried automatically.
- Guests cannot redeem. Neither can anyone while the game is in demo mode.
10
Dashboard, levels & ranks
- Dashboard
- Your hunter, stats, rewards and redeem, the pool and epoch, the leaderboard, inventory and shop. Opens before you enter, and any time with H.
- Level
- One level for every 5 chests you find.
- Rank
- Your place by total profit: the dollar value of everything your chests have paid.
- Leaderboard
- The top 50 wallet hunters by profit. Guests are not ranked.
- Distance & time
- How far you have walked and how long you have played, saved with your hunter.
11
The $HUNT token
- Supply 1,000,000,000 $HUNT.
- Buys tools: the pickaxe and the drill are paid in $HUNT, a share of supply each.
- Is a reward: part of every epoch pool is paid in $HUNT.
- Can gate digging: the game can require a minimum $HUNT holding to dig. Current minimum: ….
12
Fairness & custody
Hoodlox runs on a game server with a vault wallet, not on a smart contract. Plainly:
- Secret rarities. Where crates lie and what they hold come from a secret salt on the server. Your browser only learns a rarity after the dig is confirmed, so the map cannot be scraped for legendaries.
- One digger per crate. Claims are a single database write; two hunters can never both get the same crate.
- Server-checked timing. Dig times are measured on the server; a modified client cannot dig faster.
- Random asset picks use a cryptographic random generator.
- Custody. Between opening a chest and redeeming it, your reward is a balance in the game's database, backed by the vault. Redeem whenever you like to move it to your own wallet.
- Payments on-chain. Tool purchases and redeems are ordinary Robinhood Chain transfers anyone can check on the explorer.

FAQ
Does signing in cost anything?
No. You sign a message, not a transaction. Only buying a tool sends a transaction, and that costs normal Robinhood Chain gas.
Someone is digging the crate I wanted.
Find another, or wait: if they walk away or disconnect, the crate frees itself within their tool's time plus 30 seconds.
The epoch ended while I was digging.
That crate was cleared with the rest, so the dig ends empty. Start digs with enough time left on the clock, which the HUD shows.
Do I lose unopened chests at the end of an epoch?
No. Only crates still in the ground are cleared. Chests in your inventory wait for you.
Why did my chest open empty?
Its epoch's pool had nothing left that could cover its value, usually after a big price move. It is rare.
My redeem says pending.
The transfer is being retried. It is never sent twice: the server records each transfer before broadcasting and checks it before any retry.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes. On-screen buttons appear for walking, running and jumping; drag to look around.
Can I change my hunter or name?
Not yet. One hunter per wallet.
